Special Council Meeting

December 27, 2007

At the request of the Pastors and the concurrence of Council members, a meeting of the Council was held by teleconference to specifically consider the hiring of a lead teacher/director for the RLC Pre-School. Present on the teleconference were Vice President Rachael Orzechowski, Secretary Bob Martin, Eric Carlson, Tony Jenkins, Terri Kuckuck, Disk Rothermel, Linda Smith, and Pastor Jim Kniseley. Excused: Ken Tillman and Pastor Carol Kniseley.

Vice President Rachael Orzechowski opened the meeting at 7:05pm and Pastor Jim led with a prayer.

Pastor advised that eight resumes were submitted for consideration. The Pre-School Board held three interviews. The RLC School Board recommends to the Council the appointment of Rebecca Eastman for the position of Lead Teacher/Director of Resurrection School.

On a motion by Eric, second by Dick, the Council approves the recommendation of the Pre-School Board to hire Rebecca Eastman to the position of Lead Teacher/Pre-School Director and that the Council issue an offer letter to Ms. Eastman at a salary of $1,300 per month for an eleven-month work year beginning July 1, 2008 and ending on May 31, 2009, with the work year running from September through May in subsequent years; further, the work day will be four hours per day, Monday through Friday; further, provision will be made for hourly compensation for work done prior to July 1, 2008, in preparation for school start in September 2008. All on the teleconference approved the motion. (A copy of the offer letter is attached.)

Rachael will contact School Board member Betsy Patton to advise of the Council’s action. She will also prepare the offer letter for President Ken Tillman’s signature if he is available, otherwise she will sign it.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30pm and the teleconference ended.
