In order to grow as a congregation, we must rely on God. Our time, our
abilities, and our understanding are all gifts from God, and an important part
of the Awakening is to grow closer to God, and better understand how to use the
gifts we have been given.
So often we hear about being good stewards and being disciples, but what does
that really mean? Through the Awakening, our congregation will be
following a six week study entitled "
Sharing the Journey and the Joy
" that will
help to promote our understanding of living as children of God. It is
our hope that each member of the congregation will grow in their walk with God
through this study, and come to know what it means to be a good steward of the
gifts given.
Our congregation is richly blessed by God with a wide variety of
talents in our members. As we move into the future, are we sure we
are using these talents for the purposes that God has set before us?
Through the Awakening, we will be spotlighting the range of ministries our
congregation is involved with through short, weekly
Mission Moments,
and offer our members the chance to participate
in our ministries. It is our hope that each member will prayfully consider
supporting a ministry with their talents in the coming years.
We can not forget we are only a part of the Body Of Christ. All around the world
Christians are working to spread the Gospel and bring relief to those that suffer. Through the Awakening,
we will spotlight a few
national and worldwide ministries
of the ELCA.
It is our hope that seeing how God works through us, all of us, will allow us to
develop a greater appreciation of our role in the Kingdom.
Through the use of the Sharing the Journey and the Joy
study, weekly Mission Moments,
and keeping the congregation up to date on national and worldwide ministries,
we hope the congregation will strengthen their faith in God, by seeing
God's influence in their lives and in the lives around them. This faith will be our
foundation as we move into the future.
