We broke ground for this 13,000 square foot addition on March 25th 2007. Williams Construction is our general contractor.
Initial site work began in April and continued through July. We relocated the septic system and improved the drain field.
We completely rebuilt the stormwater collection basin. The construction-to-permanent loan is in-place, and the building permit was issued by Spotsylvania County on October 2, 2007. The new parking lot extension is now useable, having being expanded again since we relocated our Family Life trailer. The footings, foundation walls, and basement slab have been poured. Basement block has been laid, basement brickwork is complete, and precast concrete girders under a two-inch pour of concrete forming the floor of the new Fellowship Hall has been installed. Block walls are going up to form the Fellowship Hall. A similar precast system has been emplaced to form the floor of the second story classrooms. Once the concrete is poured over that, then the second floor walls will go up to support the roof.
We thank all our parishioners and visitors for your patience and adaptability during this exciting time of renovation and building.
