Christian Education Ministry

Christian Education at Resurrection Lutheran Church is much more than Christian Education for children. This important component of our church life encompasses adult classes, Bible studies, our lending library, and much more. Christian Education is just as its name implies: life-spanning education for our church family.

DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR...If you walk into Resurrection at about 9:45 am on Sunday morning, you will be greeted by a multitude of of children. Chaos? No, it’s just a part of Resurrection’s Christian Ed Ministry in full swing. The children are on their way to The Master's Net, our unique Sunday School for children aged 2 years through 5th grade. Our Spark Sunday School curriculum is lectionary based, which means that each week the kids study the same Bible story that is presented during Sunday services. Children focus on the same stories in Sunday school that they have listened to with their families during the service.

Another key component of our Christian Education program is to teach our children about sharing God’s blessings through participation in community based service projects. Even our youngest Resurrection members are truly learning to “share God’s blessings as we are generously blessed”.

DURING THE SUMMER…Weekly Summer Sunday School is offered each week in the conference room. All children are welcome to this group lesson between services.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL...Each summer we invite children 3-years old through rising 6th graders to visit Resurrection for a week of fun! We are grateful to God for allowing us to minister to church and community children and their families in this way.

3-YEAR CONFIRMATION STUDIES...Part of the Confirmation process includes Sunday morning Sunday School. Students take time to explore the Old and New Testaments, as well as talking about what it means to be a Christian.

HIGH SCHOOLERS...High school events are being planned with Donna Roberts our new Youth Director.

ADULT STUDIES...A variety of Adult Studies are available during the week and on Sundays. Please refer to the Church bulletin for a listing of the various studies of Christian life, and detailed Bible book studies, as well as different Adult Forums that are currently being offered. The main adult forum group meets on Sunday mornings in the Fellowship Hall.

FAMILY EVENTS...These are fun times when all members of our Resurrection family are invited to join in.
