We are excited to add a wonderful new prekindergarten class to Resurrection Lutheran School. If you are interested in a unique program for children who just miss the age requirements for kindergarten or who need a little more time before starting school, please read more about our SUPER FIVES class. This unique class gives young five year-olds the gift of a year to grow.
OUR SCHOOL
Our mission is to serve the congregation and community through a Christ-centered program, nurturing the total child spiritually, academically, emotionally, and physically in a safe learning environment. We strive to instill a life-long love of learning while helping to prepare your child for kindergarten. At RLS, children are encouraged to think creatively, to make decisions and choices, to share and work together, and to express themselves through PLAY! Play is an essential component of our program and to the development of children.
The classes at RLS are under the direction of highly qualified, loving, and experienced teachers. Our small class sizes allow each child the opportunity to reach his/her potential in learning. Our close-knit community preschool provides a wonderful, caring environment for your child’s first school experience.
Our classes are held in brand new classrooms that provide children countless opportunities to learn and play. A new playground area encourages large motor skill development and offers a wonderful place for the children to explore and learn to love nature.
PROGRAM OFFERINGS
THREE’s: This class is designed to create a smooth adjustment for those leaving home for the first time! Tuesday/Thursday 9AM – 12PM ($110/month)
FOUR’s: This class is designed to build on lessons learned in the previous year with a focus on kindergarten readiness. Monday/Wednesday/Friday 9AM-12PM ($150/month)
SUPER FIVES: This class is specially designed for the child that just misses the kindergarten age requirement or is not quite ready to go to a full-day kindergarten. This class gives young five year-olds the gift of a year to grow. Monday – Friday 9AM - 12PM ($250/month).
OUR PROGRAM
Our program is based on the belief that children learn best through play and is designed to prepare them for kindergarten by introducing the necessary skills. Each week, we focus on a different Bible story, letter of the alphabet, and seasonal theme. We also incorporate lessons from the program Handwriting without Tears to introduce our Fours and Super Fives classes to writing skills. Music is also a focus of our program as the children will learn countless songs in daily music class. In addition, children experience weekly chapel time, seasonal field trips, and community service projects. We also have several special celebrations throughout the year such as holiday celebrations, Pajama Day, Valentine Tea for Moms, Dad’s Night, Teddy Bear Picnic, Beach Day, and Parent’s Morning.
ENROLLMENT
A child must be three years old by December 31st to enter the THREE’s, four years old by December 31st to enter the FOUR’s, and five years old by December 31st to enter the SUPER FIVES. RLS admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin.
All children must be toilet trained. Enrollment requirements include a completed enrollment form and a registration fee of $55.00 for new students and $45.00 for returning students. Upon approval of child’s enrollment, the registration fee will become non-refundable. A $25 supply fee is due the first day of school. RLS offers a 50 percent sibling discount off the lesser tuition for siblings enrolled at the same time.
